My media pyramid is composed of all the diverse types of media that I view, use, or listen to daily. I believe media, in this time, is all about control. Even from the top of my pyramid, what books I enjoy reading, even down to the News that I watch or read is all controlled. Because of advancements in technology, people are now more than able to keep tabs on what they are exposed to. You can control what news you receive, what one can entertain themselves with, and even to the social networking sites everyone can control how people view them even down to the way they look. Control is now the foundation of our media society, and the epicenter of my media diet.

  1. I sort of envy this pyramid. I know that I spend far too much time on entertainment based media, which is a helpful procrastination tool.I always feel like I am the last to learn things about the world and I know it is my fault. I hardly ever watch the weather or go to CNN unless something drastic happens. I think I need some control over myself, I know I have the ability to control media but I need to be able to control myself.

  2. I picked this pyramid becaues it started out with book. Mine went the other direction starting with movies. I should probably read more than I do (I didn't even include books). I think I would be afraid it would take away time from my movies and television, but it seems you still have a good amount of time for both of them. Perhaps this means there is still some hope for me down the road to turn off the television and pick up a book once in a while.
